Slow Cooker Stuffed Green Peppers

It’s nearing the end of our garden for the year. And I have 3 green peppers . My husband is not fond of them, so since he is away for a few days I’ll make them & eat them myself👨‍🍳

They are easy to make, put them in the slow cooker and let them cook while you do other things.

Slow Cooker Stuffed Green Peppers

1 pound ground beef r ground turkey

1/4 cup rolled oats

1/4 cup long grain rice, uncooked

1/3 cup chopped onion

1/4 tsp Italian Seasoning

1/2 tsp salt

1/4 tsp pepper

1 tsp minced garlic

1 cup water

1 1/2 cups pasta sauce

6 bell peppers

1. Cut tops off the peppers and clean out the inside

2. Mix ground beef, oatmeal, rice, onion, garlic & seasonings

3. Stuff each pepper with the meat mixture

4. Place peppers in slow cooker standing against each other

5. Pour water into slow cooker but not on the peppers

6. Pour pasta sauce over the top of the peppers

7. Place lid on slow cooker and cook on low for 6-7 hours

8. Optional: when done, put shredded cheese of your choosing on top of peppers. Apply lid & cook until cheese melts.
